Our history.
From the founding board to the current ninth board, U.L.S.V. Amino has been the home for Life Sciences students at Utrecht University. This is the story of the people, traditions and moments that shaped Amino into who we are today.
Built by students, for students.
U.L.S.V. Amino was founded as the study association for the Life Sciences programme in Utrecht. From day one, the idea was simple: bring students together, support each other through the curriculum, and build something that lasts beyond a single cohort.
What started as a small initiative has grown into an association with nine committees, three task forces, and a dedicated room in the Caroline Bleeker Building where members meet, study and connect every weekday.
Each board adds its own chapter. From the photo wall and beer cap collector introduced by the IIIrd board, to the merchandise designed by the Merchandise task force, our traditions are shaped by the members who keep them alive.

Chapters that shaped Amino.
U.L.S.V. Amino was founded as the study association for Life Sciences students at Utrecht University, with the goal of building a community where academic life and student life meet.
Over the years, Amino grew into a vibrant association with committees and task forces covering everything from education and career support to gala nights and the Amino Room.
Today, Amino welcomes bachelor and master students of Life Sciences from the Netherlands and abroad. We host nine committees and three task forces, and our Amino Room is open on weekdays.
Every board adds a new chapter.

The moments that keep us together.
Galas, Purple Friday, the introduction period, charity weeks and the General Assembly Meetings. Every academic year follows a rhythm that has been shaped by generations of members.
Some traditions are decades old, others were introduced last year. What they share is that they were started by members who wanted to make Amino a little bit warmer, a little bit louder and a little bit more ours.
